About Rodet
The Rodet house can trace its origins back to 1875, with the marriage of a merchant from Lyon to a maiden of the Burgundy region. These two established a name for themselves as first-rate negociants, and their son, Antonin Rodet, gave his name to the winery and the generations that followed. The current negociant, Bernard Devillard, has re-asserted the Rodet name as one of the region’s finest, buying his grapes only from reputable producers. Devillard prides himself on making wines that are both delicious and affordable, while still remaining true to Burgundy’s traditions.
This sample from the house that the Rodets’ founded is an excellent introduction to what a good Burgundy wine should be. It has lots of black cherry fruit flavour, but with the added elements of mineral, spice, and chocolate. This Pinot would pair best with roasted poultry, flavourful cheeses, or even wild game.
Try this wine in a Riedel Vinum Bordeaux glass.
