About Luis Felipe Edwards
Luis Felipe Edwards bought his first vineyards in the 1970s, and began restoring them to the grandeur the had when first planted in the 1950s. Mr. Edwards then began expanding the number of varieties he grew, and started selling grapes to the local bulk-wine makers. In 1994 he purchased top-of-the-line winemaking equipment, then made and sold his first that same year. He has continued to improve his productivity and quality since then.
Originating mostly from San José de Puquillay Estate in the Colchagua Valley, from those grapevines that founded this quality variety which is essential for educated palates. This sublime and elegant Carmenere of ancestral variety with French reminiscences fermented at 26° C seeking the precious fruit kept insede, and then cradled for six months in new French oak barrels.
That peaceful wait in the bottle translates then in its maximum plenitude. This wine reveals the best attributes of the Carmenere (produced only in Chile). It deserves te best praises of the critics, bearing with supreme elegance the distinction of the Winery, becoming our truly star wine and the most promising variety wine of the Colchagua Valley.
It has an intense and deep black cherry color. It squanders an intense, wrapping and complex aroma to the nose. The rings of the barrels blend un harmonie notes of plum marmaldc, buttermilk, caramel and cinnamon.
This delicate yet strong wine pairs well with just about anything, but some especially-good matches would be white meats, raisins, stews, and casseroles.
