The soils of the Barossa and its climate are famous for producing full-flavoured, rich-fruited Shiraz wines capable of great longevity.
Peter Lehmann maintains that when God created Shiraz, it was with the Barossa in mind.

Palate: Beautifully textured, seamless wine with a soft rich middle palate, and finishing with firm, fine grained tannins.

Food Recommendations
A great partner for full-flavoured meat and poultry dishes, and of course, perfect with a fine matured Cheddar cheese." Peter Lehmann Wines
The Queen of Clubs Logo
Local artist Rod Schubert designed the label choosing the Queen of Clubs as the logo for the winery. It is, he told Peter Lehmann, the "gambler's card". It was a big gamble to establish a winery in times of grape over-supply.
Try this wine in a Riedel Vinum Syrah glass with firm cheeses such as brick, cheddar, colby, friulano, gouda, provolone, or raclette.
The Label
The original label worked well but in 1996 it was decided to move to a more contemporary look. The logo which has served us so well has been retained. Leading South Australian artists were commissioned and each label, featuring the Queen of Clubs, is different - funky to semi-abstract and on to lushly romantic. Yet they complement each other and help create a mood of cheerful anticipation, a promise fulfilled by the contents of the bottle.
Tradition and passion is what the winemaker's art is all about. At Peter Lehmann Wines we have changed our labels, but our culture was born and bred in the soil of the Barossa Valley and that is where it will stay.
