The Cellar, founded in 2001 is located in the historic Alberta Hotel Building. We're home to over 1000 different wines, a beer rorom and hundreds of spirits both for consumption and the supernatural kind. We have products for any palate and any budget.
Susan Bloor - General Manager
Susan's been hanging out around The Cellar since 2013, we cant seem to get her to go away (jk!) She would estimate that shes tasted over 800 of the over 100 wines that we have in store, never says no to Champagne and is a Napa Valley addict (and certified expert!). She got into the wine biz after a blind tasting (that she admittedly had no idea what she was doing) after a trial shift at the Crazyweed in Canmore, it was there that she developed a palate for the finer things. When she isnt at The Cellar you can find her touring local breweries or out for a doggy walk with her pupper Gus.
David Borsato - Spirits and Events Manager
This heavily moustachioed gentleman is David, our events manager and master of spirits. Passionate with a strong desire to learn, David brings years of hospitality experience to the table as well as an in-depth knowledge of all things whisk(e)y (and sports… aaand video games). Visiting Scotland and Japan are on his bucket list, as they are known for their unique whisky’s and legendary hospitality. If you have any travel tips pop on in and say hi to David!
Scott Hawes - E-Commerce and Wholesale Manager
Scott is a gentleman of many talents and we’re so happy to have him! Originally an accountant, Scott made the switch over to wine and this year hopes to finish his WSET Spirits Level 1 & French Wine Professional Certification. When he’s not at the store he’s ACTIVE – be it rock climbing, road biking, HIKING TO EVEREST BASE CAMP! But he can chill too, and enjoys a nice French press or classic G&T.
