It’s the fifth batch of GlenAllachie’s 10 Year Old Cask Strength expression! This time, the spectacular single malt Scotch whisky was drawn from a combination of Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximénez sherry, Rioja wine, and virgin oak casks. This is full-flavoured stuff, boasting big ol’ helpings of dried fruit and honeyed malt notes.
Nose: Redcurrants and raisins, with freshly brewed coffee and honey in support.
Palate: Cinnamon, dark chocolate, nutmeg, zesty orange peel bringing some levity to the palate.
Finish: Walnuts, almonds, bold malt, and another kick of cinnamon.
