Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection – Select American Oak

Another intriguing expression from Woodford Reserve’s Master’s Collection, this time exploring Select American Oak (as the name suggests). What American oak did they select? Ozark oak! Matured in barrels made from Ozark oak, which is known for growing particularly quickly, this expression has taken on an enjoyably spicy, nutty flavour profile.

Nose: Toasty and warming with hints of brewed coffee and soft clove.
Palate: Buttery popcorn at first, before herbal oak, walnut and a kick of pepper.
Finish: Chocolatey pecan notes and some spicy cedar.
